Our History
Established in 2005 by Bob McCarthy, PetraFab Inc has evolved from a small, local stone fabricator for high-end residential kitchens into one of the largest and most successful privately held commercial custom stone fabrication and installation companies in the Baltimore-Washington Metro area.
Petrafab Inc was founded on the basis of refusing to cut corners and a promise to focus on perfection. Full-time professional fabricators and installers were hired, rather than sub-contractors, and many of those original employees are still at PetraFab today.
The work done at PetraFab is completed by skilled artisans throughout all phases of countertop production. We pride ourselves on the fact that other fabricators refer work to our organization when they think it is too complicated or difficult to execute themselves.
PetraFab now has 15,000 square feet of space, top-of-the-line fabrication equipment, and 30 employees working to provide outstanding craftsmanship. We continue to grow in both volume and product offering every day.

Bob McCarthy is the owner and CEO of Petrafab, which he founded in 2005 and has been running ever since. In this position, he actively oversees project management, engineering, and drafting while ensuring all other operations run smoothly.
Before Petrafab, Bob was VP of Marketing and Sales for a large water filtration company for 25 years

Before Petrafab, Bob was VP of Marketing and Sales for a large water filtration company for 25 years, where he worked closely with the manufacturing and engineering departments. He also spent time in the pharmaceutical industry in genetic engineering, defining processes for molecular separation

Sean McCarthy was hired in 2016 and quickly became head of production.
Sean has a Bachelor's from California University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Technology Management.

Deb began working with Petrafab in 2006, shortly after it was founded, and has been with us ever since. She is responsible for office management and accounting and does a tremendous job!
